TECAR Therapy: Deep Heat for Accelerated Healing
Enhancing tissue recovery through capacitive and resistive energy transfer
TECAR©, which stands for Transferencia Electica Capacitiva Resistiva, is an advanced form of thermotherapy that promotes tissue healing by increasing local tissue temperature. This non-invasive therapy is applied through a flexible plate and electrodes by a physiotherapist, helping to deliver targeted treatment to both superficial and deeper tissues.
Using capacitive electrodes, TECAR is highly effective for treating soft tissues like muscles. When addressing denser structures such as tendons, bones, or joints, resistive electrodes are employed to direct energy deeper into the tissue. The therapy can transfer between 1 to 300 Joules of energy per second, allowing for faster, more efficient treatment sessions.
By promoting vasodilation and increasing blood flow to the treated area, TECAR Therapy helps oxygenate tissues, reduce muscle spasms, and activate metabolic responses. It’s particularly beneficial for both acute and chronic injuries, post-operative rehabilitation, tendinopathies, myofascial pain syndromes, and even muscle contractures, ensuring quicker recovery and improved mobility.
